Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Shelby Leib and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! This is my first year teaching and I am so happy to be a part of the Countryside community! When I moved back to Virginia after 4 years of college in Indiana, I became a LCPS substitute teacher and then finished up the 2019-2020 school year as a long-term 2nd grade substitute here at Countryside. The staff and students here are so kind and welcoming, you have definitely found yourself in the right place!
I grew up here in Sterling and went to Potowmack Elementary and River Bend Middle School before going to a private high school. I then graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana in May 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a double minor in Early Childhood Education and American History. While at Saint Mary’s, I worked for recruiting for the University of Notre Dame Football team which was a dream come true experience (Go Irish!)
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and go to our beach house in Delaware in the summer, and curl up by a fire and spend time together in the winter. I also love to watch movies (especially Disney movies), bake, draw, travel, read, and watch Notre Dame football!
I believe that our classroom should be a kind, open, and welcoming environment for everyone.
In light of the unique circumstances for this upcoming school year, I would like to really stress the importance of our parent-teacher relationship. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to email me at email@example.com. I am so excited for this upcoming school year!
Welcome to Kindergarten!
