Ms. Dowd was born and raised in Souderton Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Lock Haven University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Mathematics Education and was a member of both the Cross Country and Track & Field teams all four years. 

In 2018 Ms. Dowd moved to Northern Virginia to begin her teaching career and pursue her Masters Degree at George Mason University. In May 2021 Ms. Dowd completed her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. 

She is entering her fifth year in Loudoun County Public Schools! She is excited for her third year as part of the Mathematics Department at Lightridge and an Assistant Coach of the Unified Basketball Team!
