Ms. Jayme Lorenz

I am originally from a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania, known for being the birthplace of the oil industry. I attended Kent State University in Ohio, where I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, with a concentration in Actuarial Math. I returned to Pennsylvania to pursue my Masters of Education in Middle and Secondary Math from Edinboro University. I moved to Virginia immediately after graduating from Edinboro!

This year marks my ninth year teaching in Loudoun County, and I'm so fortunate to be part of Lightride High School's inaugural staff! I spent my first five years in the county teaching at Mercer Middle School, which included the Mercer Annex at Champe! In 2018, I became a charter staff member at Willard Intermediate School, where I spent two years as a proud Wildcat! I absolutely love the challenge and problem-solving that comes with math, and I can't wait to share that passion with my Lightridge scholars.

In my spare time, I play in competitive softball and volleyball leagues, hike, kayak, and spend lots of time with my family, friends, and my dog, Maggy. I will find any excuse to be outside enjoying the sunshine!

I'm looking forward to a great year at Lightridge! Go Lightning!
