“To learn a language is to have one more window from which to view the world.”
My name is Julia Scott and I am so excited to help open Lightridge High School for the 2020-2021 school year! This will be my fourth year teaching in LCPS, where I also graduated from. I spent my early childhood in New Jersey before my family moved to Sterling, Virginia, where I attended both Stelring Middle and Park View High School. I then moved to Ohio to attend Bowling Green State University, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in World Language Education. I am currently finishing up my graduate studies and will complete my Master's of Education in Instructional Design in October, 2020.
I moved back to northern VA in 2017 and taught Spanish for three years at Rock Ridge HS. I absolutely love teaching in Loudoun and am very honored to be part of the charter staff of high school #17 in LCPS! I will be teaching Spanish 1 and 3 this year at LHS, as well as sponsoring PEER and co-sponsoring the Spanish Language Club. I live in Leesburg with my husband and our two cats, Thor and Nala. In my free time I like to read, watch Netflix, cook, and spend time outdoors hiking or at the beach during warmer months. I am looking forward to an amazing year with you all!
