Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Christina Yoon
Ms. Yoon is heading into her eighth year of teaching, and she is delighted to be part of the returning staff at Lightridge High School after its inaugural opening in 2020. During this eighth year, she will be teaching English 9 Honors and English 10 Honors. In the past two years, Ms. Yoon served as the Photojournalism I and II (yearbook) and Intro to Journalism teacher/adviser, respectively. She is proud to have been able to start up the yearbook program at Lightridge. Ms. Yoon attended Bridgewater College, near Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she taught 7th grade English and Language Arts for three years, prior to moving back to Northern Virginia. Upon returning to the area, she took a year off from teaching, then she returned to help open Willard Intermediate School in its opening year to teach 9th Grade English.
Ms. Yoon is a self-taught hand-letterer/calligraphy "artist" who likes to spend her free time fine-tuning her handwriting skills. She has a 13-year old Shih Tzu-Maltese mix named Van Gogh and a bunny named Granite. Oh, and she has a wide collection of Vans shoes!
In the upcoming school year, she is excited to support her students (new and old) in AND out of the classroom and continue to help build the Lightridge community.
