  • Denise Corbo is an award-winning educator and national nonprofit leader focusing on children’s literacy. As a former LCPS gifted and talented teacher, she began her career teaching high school vocational education. After receiving an undergraduate degree in business psychology and a master’s degree in education from Marymount University, she taught kindergarten and first grade, and served as a technology resource teacher. Denise holds a National Board Teacher Certification, in addition to a gifted and talented and provisional administration endorsement through the University of Virginia.

    Denise channels her more than 33 years of teaching experience into a fast-growing literacy nonprofit that is measurably changing the lives of young children. She serves as the president and founder of StoryBook Treasures, where she devotes her life to sharing her passion, helping teachers inspire children to fall in love with books and reading.

    Born into a military family and living across the U.S. and the world, Denise is proud to call Loudoun County her home for the past 33 years, where she has enjoyed raising and supporting her three children and grandson in all of their endeavors. Denise believes whole heartily in giving back to the community and feels blessed to serve as the At-Large school board member representing every student and school in Loudoun County.


  • Schools Represented: The At-Large member to the Loudoun County School Board is elected county-wide. Ms. Corbo represents all Loudoun County public schools.

  • Committee Assignments: Ms. Corbo serves on the Finance & Operations Committee, Joint Committee with the Board of Supervisors, Technology Steering Committee and the Equity Committee. She also serves as the liaison to the Career & Technical Education Advisory Committee.
