Goodlin, Nathan (Social Science)

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am starting my second year with the Social Sciences and Global Studies department at Riverside. I am kicking off my second year of teaching with a bang -- Distance Learning! I could not ask to be at a better school or part of a dream team!

Although I am new to teaching, I am not new to LCPS. I am a proud LCPS graduate -- Class of 2014. After graduation, I attended Bridgewater College (just south of Harrisonburg, VA) and graduated with a degree in History and Political Science in 2018. I remained another year at Bridgewater to do my student teaching and earn my teaching certificate in 2019. It is nice to be home but I do miss the views in the Shenandoah Valley.

I have honestly never wanted to be anything other than a History Teacher. I was inspired to make teaching my career in middle school. My 6th grade Social Studies teacher made history come alive. History is not just about memorizing dates, but rather it is about people and their stories. My hope is to do thing in my class. Make history come alive and fun!

I am so excited to get this school year started (event Virtual)!!
