Loudoun Valley High School Orchestras
Kelly Holowecki, director
The Loudoun Valley orchestra program is made up of 3 string orchestras: the Concert Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. Each of these ensembles rehearse and typically perform separately, which allows students to perform with other musicians of approximately their own performing level. Students are placed into an orchestra by audition combined with director recommendation. Loudoun County begins string instrument instruction in 6th grade, so by the time students reach LVHS, most students have been playing for 3 years or more.
