    Miss Thomas earned her Master of Education summa cum laude from Saint Francis University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Her BA is in Government and Politics with a double major in History and 21 credits in English. She holds 14 additional graduate credits from George Mason University in history, which were earned as part of the Teaching American History (TAH) Grant. She holds an additional 5 graduate credits in history that she earned online at LaVerne University.  In addition, she is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. She is also a founding member of the Virginia Gamma Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa.

     

    This is Miss Thomas' twenty-second year of teaching. Prior to coming to Virginia in August 2004, she taught for seven years at Rockwood Area High School in Rockwood, Pennsylvania and for two years at Saint Patrick’s in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania. She spent her first year in Virginia teaching at Broad Run High School in Ashburn. She is currently teaching at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, Virginia, where she is also the Student Council Association Advisor, and has been since 2006-2007. In addition to her teaching duties and advising the SCA, she is the Assistant Coach of the Boys Track and Field at Stone Bridge High School, and has been since Spring Outdoor Season 2006. She has spent most of the time specializing in coaching the jumps and sprints for the Boys and Girls Outdoor Track and Field Team. She began coaching as part of the Liberty District, Northern Region, and Triple A State where her athletes were all-District, District Champion, all-Region, all-State. Currently she is part of Conference 14, the North Region, 5A State where her athletes were all-Conference, Conference Champion, all Region, Region Champion, all State, 5A State Champion. Additionally, she volunteers with the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics as an Event Director for the Jumps:  Broad, Long and High, and has been since the Fall of 2009. She was Co-Meet Director for the Track Events in the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics from 2007-2016. The Senior Olympics are held in various venues throughout the month of September.
     
     
    In her personal life Ms Thomas is the mother of three sons, grandmother of two-granddaughter and grandson, and has three daughters-in-law, is the sister of ten, and has multiple nieces, nephews, and grandnephew. Her family continues the examples of education, athletics, work-ethic, and sense of family set by her parents.
