I am thrilled to start another year as your Principal at Lovettsville Elementary School. I am a native New Yorker but have lived in Loudoun County since moving from Portland, Oregon to Virginia. My daughters are both graduates of Loudoun County Public Schools and Virginia Tech. My oldest daughter, Zoe, just moved to Washington, DC and is working as a Physician Assistant in Alexandria.  My youngest daughter, Sophia, is in a doctoral program for occupational therapy in Pittsburgh.

My career in education started in Loudoun County over 20 years ago, when I switched careers from Human Resources and Recruiting to Education.  I was a teacher at both Ashburn Elementary and Tolbert Elementary before I transitioned to the Dean position at Liberty Elementary in South Riding.  I was the Assistant Principal at Sycolin Creek Elementary School for 5 years before becoming the Principal here at Lovettsville Elementary School in 2018.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Economics from SUNY Oneonta; a Masters of Elementary Education from Marymount University; and a Masters in Educational Leadership from George Mason University. As your Principal, one of my goals continues to focus on being an effective instructional leader where students develop to their fullest potential under the rigorous academic leadership of our dedicated teaching staff. I believe a positive and dynamic school environment can be created by building relationships with all members of the school community.  My focus will be to continue to build strong relationships with our students, the staff, and parents that comprise the Lovettsville community.  I’m looking forward to another amazing year at Lovettsville Elementary School!

I am honored to be serving another year as the Assistant Principal at Lovettsville Elementary School. I am very proud to be a part of this amazing team, where our mission is to build a community that educates, inspires and empowers all students to become leaders and contributors in our global society.  At Lovettsville, we work collaboratively with parents, staff, students and the community to provide a learning environment that fosters the development of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and leadership. 
 
I am originally from Ashland, Virginia, a small town near Richmond. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from James Madison University. Go Dukes!  I also received a Master's degree from Marymount University and a PK-12 Administration and Supervision endorsement from The George Washington University. I live in Western Loudoun with my husband, Dustin (a former Lovettsville Elementary graduate), my daughter, Addison, and my son, Hank. 

I love spending time with the students here at Lovettsville and watching them learn new things each day. I look forward to working collaboratively with our staff, the community and our families to meet the needs of all of our students. Communication is the key, so I encourage you to reach out to the staff or administration with any questions, concerns, or ideas. Together we will have a fantastic school year, helping our students meet their full potential.
