Reading at Lovettsville Elementary

At Lovettsville Elementary, we are fortunate to have one full time and one part time reading specialists working with our students and teachers. Reading specialists have many roles at Lovettsville Elementary.  We work with students in need of reading support both in and out of the classroom, depending on the needs of the students.  

The reading specialists also assist classroom teachers with reading instruction, coordinate state and local testing programs, and administer and interpret reading assessments.  We provide reading intervention programs and plan professional growth opportunities for our teachers.  We also serve as a resource to parents and the community.

What we like best about being reading specialists is helping students become better readers and promoting the joy of reading!
