Ms. Ives has been teaching at Loudoun County High School since September 1999. She loves being a Captain and is proud to have taught thousands of Loudoun County High School students over the years. Her passion is teaching literature, writing, grammar, thinking, and life to her students, whether they be fresh-faced ninth graders or seniors in AP Literature with an eye toward college and beyond. 

Ms. Ives earned her BA in English from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Her M.Ed. is in Curriculum and Supervision from Vanderbilt University.
