Ms. Allyne Zappalla

Ms. Zappalla has been with Loudoun County Public Schools since 1996.  During her tenure, she has served in several schools and central office as a school social worker, administrator and student assistance specialist.  As school social worker, she is very excited to work with and support the students, staff and families of the SBHS community each year!

Ms. Zappalla, a native New Yorker, received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from Adelphi University.  She spent 20 years as part of a military family and began her career in 1982 as a Department of the Army civilian.  She supported military service members and their families as a Clinical Director in Buedingen, Germany and as the Director of Army Community Service at Fort Polk, LA. Her experience in the fields of social work, mental health, domestic violence, substance abuse and addiction has spanned over 40 years.  

Ms. Zappalla has a passion for working with people and helping them discover the strengths within themselves.  She enjoys the outdoors, quiet times at home with her dog Watson and traveling to visit her six children and four granddaughters.
