Message from the PTSA President

  • Welcome to the 2020-21 school year!

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to each one of you.  Thank you for visiting this site.

I know we are all concerned about how this school-year is going to shape up with so many unknowns.  At the same time, I also feel that we, as a community, are resilient.  It is more important than ever to rise to the occasion to support our student “Knights”, parents, and teachers.

Champe’s PTSA had a great year in 2019-20. In partnership with Huntington Learning South Riding, we conducted meaningful SAT practice testing for college-bound students.  We participated and led events for staff appreciation and covered member teachers’ unreimbursed classroom expenses.  We awarded scholarships to students and rededicated some of our grad party funds to recognize the graduating seniors.  And last year we tackled our largest capital project effort ever in helping the staff fully renovate two courtyards.  These investments matter.  The courtyards will provide a wonderful outdoor space for the JCHS community where students can learn and relax when the building opens.

To meet the social distancing challenge in the next few months, PTSA plans more virtual events that can help the community.  We are considering bringing experts in the fields of education, mental and physical health, counselors and others to set up virtual meetings with community support.  We will continue to advocate for students, staff and teacher safety in and around the campus.  We are planning to organize events that showcase the spirit of the school and bring the community together.

We request and encourage each and every one of you to become a part of our team.  The number one reason to join the PTSA is to benefit the students.

    • By becoming a PTSA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education and volunteering.
    • By volunteering with PTSA, you offer your experience and may gain some in return.  It’s an opportunity to put your skills to good use, for a good cause.
    • By getting involved, you’ll be part of the solution, helping to make positive change

We have volunteer opportunities for everyone who wants to be involved; if interested please contact us at for more information.

PTSA meetings are typically held monthly on the 4th Wednesday.  Our meetings are a great way to keep in touch with what is happening around Champe.  Our members, including JCHS principal Mr. Tyson, administrators, teachers, parents and students attend to share information and ideas.  The first meeting of this school year will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd.  All meeting dates will be posted on PTSA website or follow us on Twitter @ChampePTSA.

Thank you and consider joining PTSA!
