Mr. Fitzroy Frew
Mr. Frew was born and raised in St. Catherine, Jamaica, and immigrated to the United States in 1989 where he grew up in the South Bronx. Mr. Frew earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and English from D'Youville University (1999), located in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Frew earned his Master's Degree in Education Administration from George Mason University (2013).
This is Mr. Frew’s first year as principal at Sterling Middle School; prior to Sterling Middle, Mr. Frew served as an assistant principal for seven years at Riverside High School. Previously, Mr. Frew served as a middle school dean at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School, Harper Park Middle School, and Seneca Ridge Middle School. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mr. Frew taught language arts at Stone Hill Middle School. Mr. Frew has taught as an English/Language Arts teacher in Fairfax County, VA, Clarke County, NV, Bronx, NY, and Charlotte, NC.
Mr. Frew is incredibly excited to be a Pioneer; he looks forward to working with students, parents, faculty, and community members to build upon the strong legacy at Sterling.
