Mrs. Green

Welcome students and parents to Sterling Middle School.  I am Mrs. Green and this is my 17th year of teaching.  I am new to Virginia and Sterling Middle.  Thank you for being so warm and welcoming!

Here is a little bit about me:  I grew up in southern Peru.  Upon returning to the United States, I went to high school in Tucson, AZ.  My undergraduate degree is from Northern Arizona University in History and Social Studies Education.  My Master’s degree is also from NAU in Educational Leadership.

My teaching career began at Coronado K-8 in Catalina, AZ.  I taught nine years there ranging from grades sixth through eighth in American history and English.  From there, I went to Canyon Del Oro High School in Oro Valley to teach English intervention and pre-AP English for four years.  I then transferred to Rose Academy in Tucson, AZ.  I had the tremendous privilege of working with an amazing group of students, parents, and colleagues over the years.  I am so excited to be back teaching middle school students.  They bring so much joy and laughter into the classroom.

I love to travel and have been to over 30 countries in five continents.  I am planning to add another continent next summer.  I feel that our diversity is our greatest strength as a community and I will often bring in real world experience into the classroom to add authenticity.

Communication is the most powerful educational tool.  I believe in open dialogue.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
