My name is April Meyer and I am about to embark on my 7th year of teaching! This will be my third year as a resource teacher here at Seldens Landing. Prior to teaching at Seldens, I spent four years as a second grade classroom teacher at Countryside Elementary.
I was born and raised on Long Island in New York. I moved down to Northern Virginia in the summer of 2015 after finishing graduate school. I graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo where I received my Bachelors Degree in Childhood and Special Education with a minor in Mathematics as well as my Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy.
I strongly believe that a key component of student success is having a strong parent-teacher relationship. I encourage parents to reach out to me throughout the school year if you have any questions or concerns, so that we can work collaboratively in supporting your child.
This is going to be a great school year and I am excited to spend it helping your child learn and grow!
