Ms. Heidi Trude
Bonjour!
Ms. Trude excited to be teaching French at Loudoun Valley High School. This is her third year teaching at Valley, as well as serving as the World Languages and Cultures Department Chair. Prior to coming to Loudoun Valley, she taught all levels of French for 11 years at Skyline High School in Front Royal, VA.
She graduated from Sweet Briar College in 2007 with a BA in French and History. She earned her M.Ed from the University of Mary Washington in 2009. In 2018, she earned a certificate from the University of Colorado Boulder in Instructional Technology and Language Teaching.
She serves as the President-Elect of FLAVA (Foreign Language Association of Virginia), serves as a member of the executive board of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) Virginia chapter, and serves as a member of the SCOLT (Southern Conference on Language Teaching) Board of Directors. She is the 2017 Region IV Virginia Teacher of the Year; the 2017 FLAVA David Cox World Language Teacher of the Year; the 2018 SCOLT World Language Teacher of the Year, a 2019 ACTFL Language Teacher of the Year finalist, and the 2019 EF Excellence Award for Language Teaching Award recipient.
