Welcome to Miss Cahill's reading corner! I am excited about beginning my twelfth year of teaching with you at Kenneth Culbert! I am a proud graduate of High Point University, NC where I earned an Undergraduate Degree in Special Education and also earned my license to teach Elementary Education. Since beginning my career, I have found that I have a passion for reading. More specifically, teaching others how to read. I went to George Mason University and earned a Masters Degree in Literacy Leadership and became licensed as a Reading Specialist. Most recently, I completed my certificate in Leadership and Administration through George Washington University. Originally from Long Island, New York, I began my teaching career in Loudoun as a cross-categorical special education teacher enriching students from kindergarten through fifth grade at Steuart Weller Elementary. The experience of working with students across grade levels was invaluable and enjoyable. After a few years, I decided to move into a general education classroom position and taught first grade. I LOVED teaching reading and reading to my students. I am excited about being your Reading Specialist at Culbert! I believe that each student is a unique learner and, together as a team, we can engage your child's education to the fullest!
