Hello Kindergarten Families!

Welcome to a wonderful school year at Hillside Elementary! My name is Rachel Corigliano. I am delighted to have your child in my Kindergarten class! I have been teaching Kindergarten through 2^nd Grade for over 15 years in Ohio, Florida, and Virginia. I earned my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the Ohio State University. When I am not in the classroom, I love spending my time outside, exercising, playing with my 2 sons, and traveling around the country to compete in obstacle course races.

I love teaching Kindergarten, because this is a time in their young lives when they are filled with curiosity and wonderment of the world and have a strong desire to learn. I am honored to be here with them as they begin their official journey to becoming life-long learners. I will do my very best to encourage exploration, teach positive social interactions with their classmates, and help them develop into independent thinkers and workers. We will work together as a class to build a respectful, kind, nurturing community. As the year goes on, you will see your child blossom into readers and writers, as well as mastering early math skills. We will also have fun with hands-on science investigations and interactive social studies activities. I have high expectations for your child, and I will do all I can to help your child achieve those goals.

I believe that parents and families are an integral part of a child’s success in school. Our home-school communication will be of vital importance. I hope to talk with each of you in the first weeks of school. We will have many opportunities for parent-teacher conferences throughout the year, and you are always welcome to contact me with any questions or concerns.
