Hi my name is Alyson Eaglen. I am excited to support the mathematics program at Fredrick Douglass this school year.
This is my 14th year in education. I’ve had a range of experiences in grades K-8 but ultimately I have always loved teaching math. I have a BA in English from Allegheny College, a BS in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, and will be graduating in December 2019 with a Masters in Education Leadership with a Math Specialist (K-8) concentration at GMU.
I am passionate about teaching mathematics and I want all students to have math experiences that help them understand the “why” behind what they are learning. I am married and a mom to three wonderful elementary-aged girls who attend Loudoun County schools. Our family loves to go hiking and take trips to Lake Erie. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, and being outside.
I’m looking forward to being a part of the Fredrick Douglass community!
