Dear Rising First Graders,

I am very excited to have you in my class! This year, you will fill your brain with so many new things. In our class, you will learn how to read fiction and nonfiction and you will become an author by writing so many stories! You will also learn new math skills by participating in hands-on activities and playing math games. This year, you will become a scientist by making observations and doing experiments and research on topics such as animals, weather, plants, and more! In first grade, you get to do fun social studies projects, including teaching other students about how to be a good citizen, researching famous Virginians, and becoming a voter! I cannot wait to teach you, read to you, explore with you, learn with you, and grow with you! This school year will be so much fun and I can’t wait to meet you!
