My Family

Hello! Welcome to Mrs. Henze’s class!

    About me…..

I am so excited to get to know you and your children. I have a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice/ Political Science, and a Master’s in both Forensic Science and Elementary Education. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Prior to receiving my teaching certification, I served in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Interpreter (linguist) and following my time in the Navy, I worked as a probation officer at a juvenile detention facility and taught college level criminal justice courses. I took some time off to raise my three children and when I decided to return to work, I knew I wanted to combine my love of education and working with children.

I was born and raised in Vista, California (just north of San Diego). I live in Round Hill with my husband and our three children- Parker (14), Claire (10), and Hunter (9). We have one dog (Titan, English Mastiff), two barn cats, 9 chickens, and a bunny. In our spare time, we are usually found at a baseball, softball, or football field.

    My teaching philosophy…..

Education has always been extremely important to me. Time and time again, I have thought that if I could get paid to go to school, I would do it for the rest of my life. My goal is to instill this love of learning in my students by creating a welcoming and supportive environment that fosters creativity and meaningful learning opportunities. I also recognize that no two students are alike and take that into account when planning daily lessons.

I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students and their families and working together to see everyone shine in third grade!
