• Mrs. Dee Griffith

Hello Mountain View students, parents and community. My name is Dee Griffith and I am happy to join the administrative team at Mountain View Elementary as the dean.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Frostburg State University in early childhood/elementary education, a Master of Education degree from James Madison University in school library media and an administration and supervision certification from George Mason University.  This is my 30th year as an educator, with 25 of those years as a school librarian and 4 as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher.

I come from a family of educators so you could say that education is "in my genes." I married a family of educators with my husband being a middle school band director and daughter working in early childhood education.  I have loved to read for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was the one with the flashlight under the covers trying to finish a chapter when I was actually supposed to be asleep. In addition to reading, I love music, scrapbooking/cardmaking and spending time with my family and friends.

I have a passion for learning. As such, I firmly believe that learning is an amazing lifelong journey and feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to help children blossom and grow along their path.

I am looking forward to working with all students and families at Mountain View this year!
