Mrs. Cathy DiMaria

Hello, Timber Wolves! My name is Cathy DiMaria, and I am eager to meet all of you. This will be my eighteenth year with LCPS and my second year at Trailside Middle School.

I grew up in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, and I graduated from Shippensburg University in 1988. I have taught all subjects in a variety of grade levels and have a total of twenty-three years of teaching experience.

I will work especially hard to make this a happy and successful year for you and your child. My focus is on your child and his/her abilities and specific needs as a learner. Students will be active participants in their own learning, and I will promote an environment for students to be creative and critical thinkers. They will communicate and collaborate with each other, but most importantly, students will demonstrate a deeper understanding of content. Students will be able to apply this knowledge to problems in and out of the classroom through personalized learning, various activities, and projects.

Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family, play games and have fun. I have been married for thirty years. My husband Dan is a Software Engineer and graduated from Shippensburg University, where we met. We have two children, Kevin, 27 and Kelly, 25. Both have moved out and have successful careers ahead of them in software development.
