Biography:

What's up Rams?! Welcome to my website. My name is Kyle May, and this will be my 6th full year teaching, but my first here at Riverside High School! I started my teaching career at Strasburg High School in Strasburg, VA, right after graduating with a Master's of Art in Teaching from James Madison University. I came in halfway through the school year, and from there I never look back. I have a strong passion for math and for teaching, coming from a long family tree of teachers; my parents are even teachers here in the county!

I am originally from upstate New York, but moved to Ashburn, VA when I was entering 6th grade. I eventually graduated from Broad Run High School, so I know exactly what it is like to be a proud student of Loudoun County Public Schools. As much as I love talking about math, I am also an avid sports fan. I am passionate for all Philadelphia teams, with my parents both originating from there, but my biggest passion is soccer, with my favorite team being Arsenal FC. I am also a father to a wonderful baby girl.

I look forward to working with you all this school year, and will work hard to make sure this is an exciting, fun, and worthwhile class. In our class, we will work not only towards an understanding of a topic, but also how we can apply that to real-life situations. You will gain knowledge of the content, but also how we can act on that knowledge. If at any point you feel like you may need some extra help, I am available every day before school from 8:15 - 9:00. I will also utilize Google Classroom to communicate to students and to post documents of things we have done in class. I will also be using Phoenix to notify students and parents of assignments that are being added to the grade book and when things are due.
