Mrs. Jennifer Melnikoff

My name is Jennifer Melnikoff and I am excited to be teaching first grade at Discovery Elementary. I am originally from Pennsylvania, but have lived in Virginia for the past nineteen years. This is my sixteenth year of teaching. I have previously taught fifth grade, fourth grade, and kindergarten. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and an Education Specialist's degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, both from Walden University. My husband and I have three children. My oldest son Koen is fifteen, my daughter Laken is thirteen, and my youngest son Ian is ten. We also have an English bulldog named Effie that we adore. I believe in fostering a life-long love of learning, while providing instruction in a safe, supportive environment that leaves each child feeling valued and cared for. I look forward to an outstanding school year!
