Mrs. Shannan Lanterman

Hello All!  My name is Mrs. Lanterman.  Let me tell you about myself.  I've been a teacher since 2003 and taught various math courses such as Math 8, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 at the high school and middle school levels.  Even though I was born in San Jose, California, I consider myself have grown up in Loudoun County as that's where I spent my middle school and high school years.  In fact, I graduated high school, Park View.  Park View was a pretty new school when I was there.  In fact, Park View didn't have their football stadium (or any other stadium) located next to the school.  We had to travel to a near by little league stadium off of Sterling Boulevard for our home games.  After graduation, I attended and graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor's of Science and Master's of Education Degrees.  My hobbies/activities include:  hiking, any water sports, walking, cycling, and running especially long distance.  In fact, I have run a couple of marathons (26.2 miles); a few half marathons (13.1 miles); Ragnars (200-mile relay); a few 10-milers; and various short distance 5 mile runs such as color runs and glow runs; on average, I run 25 miles per week.  I have two children, boys, ages 24 and 32 years old; and I have grandchildren.  My children and grandchildren, unfortunately, don't live in Virginia so my husband and I like to travel to places like Utah to visit them.  As you can see, I've been teaching for a long time and I enjoy it very much.  I am excited about meeting and working with my students this year!
