Mr. Andrew Davis

Welcome to Round Hill Elementary School!

It is an honor to introduce myself as your principal.  I am the proud father of two beautiful girls, Alexa and Taylor.  I live in Berryville, VA, with my wife, Janine.  I am originally from Winchester, VA, and graduated from Handley High School.

I began my professional career here in Loudoun County as a third-grade teacher at Lowes Island Elementary School, after graduating from Bridgewater College in 1996 with a BA in Psychology and a concentration in elementary education.  After teaching in Sterling for a year, I decided to return to Winchester, VA, where I had been raised. I taught fourth grade for four years before deciding to return to Loudoun County Public Schools.  During my time in Winchester, I began work on a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Shenandoah University.  I completed that degree in 2003 while teaching third grade at Leesburg Elementary School.

In January of 2004, I accepted a position as the assistant principal at Sterling Elementary School, where I remained until July 1, 2008. I then led Rolling Ridge Elementary School passionately as its principal for six years and wrapped up my time there in the Spring of 2014.  Based on the outstanding work of the Rolling Ridge faculty, staff, and students, I am humbled to say that I was selected as the Principal of the Year for Loudoun County Public Schools and was the recipient of the Washington Post Distinguished Leadership Award in March of 2014.  I am overjoyed to now serve as your principal here at Round Hill Elementary School.

Our mission here at Round Hill Elementary School is to prepare and empower learners for today and tomorrow.  We will do this by:
*  Establishing a foundation of strong skills
*  By developing creative, critical thinkers with a confident voice
*  By providing meaningful experiences that challenge learners to effectively collaborate and communicate
*  By inspiring learners to contribute to the global community

Starting in August of 2017 we embarked on a three-year partnership with Code to the Future to become one of the first Computer Immersion elementary schools in the state of Virginia.  We are excited to be on a journey of innovation that challenges us to better prepare your children for an ever-changing future.  Through our efforts to teach computer science skills starting in Kindergarten paired with our continued incorporation of Project Based Learning (PBL) experiences, we are confident that your child will gain the skills necessary to succeed in a global community.

We hope that through our website you may catch a glimpse of the many wonderful things that Round Hill Elementary School has to offer.  We welcome you to visit Round Hill Elementary School and encourage you to join us, inspiring our students to believe in themselves as they work to achieve great things!

Sincerely,
Andrew Davis
Principal
