Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Greenwood

I am excited to begin the 2021-2022 school year and my third year at Potowmack Elementary! This is my eighth year of teaching in Virginia public schools. In the past, I have worked as an early childhood, elementary, and middle school educator, mentor, youth leader, substitute teacher, and coach for athletics. Specifically as a classroom teacher, I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade as well as 8th grade English.

I am originally from North Dakota, but moved to attend Virginia Tech. While in college, I competed on the Track and Field team and graduated with a B.A. in English and M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I hold a graduate professional studies certificate for Administration and Supervision, PK-12 as well as have completed all but dissertation for a Doctor of Education in Administrative Leadership from Shenandoah University.

When I'm not in the classroom, forming relationships with my students and families, or growing as a lifelong student, I adore spending time with my husband, a firefighter paramedic, and our four dogs. We enjoy being geeky and hobbies like watching anime, reading comic books, and playing games. I love living and hiking in Virginia and seeking the adventure of exploring new places.
