Mrs. Greenwood

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Greenwood

I am ecstatic to be joining Potowmack Elementary! In the past, I have worked as an early childhood, elementary, and middle school educator, mentor, youth leader, substitute teacher, and coach for athletics. Specifically as a classroom teacher, I have taught 4th and 5th grade as well as 8th grade English in Fauquier County. As I join the 3rd grade team, this will be the start of my sixth year of teaching in Virginia public schools.

I am originally from North Dakota, but moved to Virginia in 2006. While attending Virginia Tech, I competed on the Track and Field team and graduated with a B.A. in English and M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I hold a graduate professional studies certificate for Administration and Supervision, PK-12 as well as have completed all but dissertation for a Doctor of Education in Administrative Leadership from Shenandoah University.

When I'm not forming relationships in the classroom with my students or growing as a lifelong student, I adore spending time with my husband, a firefighter paramedic, and our three dogs. We enjoy being geeky and hobbies like watching anime, reading comic books, and playing games. I love living in Virginia and like the adventure of exploring new places when I can.
