20-21 SOL Testing Information (Grades 3-5)
The Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) is a state and federally required assessment and is required to be delivered under secure, standardized testing conditions in the presence of a trained proctor to ensure validity of the test. Students in any instructional model (100% distance or hybrid) must attend school in person to participate in the Standards of Learning (SOL) testing. The SOLs will occur during the month of May and a more specific schedule will be provided in the coming weeks. We will be following all health mitigation procedures which includes all persons wearing masks, remaining at least 6 feet apart, utilizing only personal items, and disinfecting of all surfaces. While we encourage all students to participate in the assessment, we understand that some families may have concerns about the in-person testing requirement and you may read more on the Parent Rights page. At the elementary level refusals do not impact a course grade, promotion to the next grade level, or course placement. Make up testing would not be offered and is not required. Parents who do not wish for their student to participate in this assessment may indicate their refusal by clicking on the link HERE and completing the Permission Click form.
In preparation for the SOLs, all students will be required to utilize an LCPS provided device to complete the assessment. If your child's device requires repairs or has not yet picked up their device please schedule an appointment by utilizing the following link: https://bit.ly/DDI-REPAIR .
