Lindsay Fitzgerald, English Department Chair

Mrs. Lindsay Fitzgerald serves as the English Department Chair and teaches AP English Language and Composition, English 11 Honors, and Film Study. Raised in Northern Virginia, she received a BA in English from James Madison University and holds an M. Ed in Secondary Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. Prior to joining the inaugural staff at Independence, Mrs. Fitzgerald taught for 12 years in Fairfax County, including grades 10-12, IB Language and Literature, and IB Film Study. She is a Teacher Consultant for the Northern Virginia Writing Project, and when she’s not in the classroom, you can find her spending time with her husband and daughter. She is thrilled to be a part of the Independence community. Go Tigers!
