• Welcome to Waxpool Elementary School

    Principal Michael Pellegrino

Waxpool Elementary will be a school in which students come first.  We envision our school to be the focal point for our students, their families, and the community.  Our school will be caring, warm, safe, and orderly, all which help to foster a learning environment that is conducive to success.  Waxpool will focus on learning and recognize diversity and the growth and development of each individual.

Our students will be actively involved and given opportunities to choose enriching activities that focus on the strengths of each child.  Students will use a variety of resources and technology to enhance their ability to learn.  Effective, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable teachers will maximize learning time by facilitating the instructional process in order to guide each student to success.  Using a variety of methods and instructional strategies, teachers will instill a contagious love of learning so children are eager to learn.

The Loudoun County Public School curriculum provides students with powerful learning opportunities designed to support standards and benchmarks to achieve the skills necessary to become positive and productive citizens.  The curriculum is exciting and integrated, allowing for flexible progress, and contains experiences that make real-life connections.

We believe that parents are an important part of the learning process.  Parents, teachers, and administration must partner together to help the students achieve the high academic and behavior expectations.  By working with each other, we can help every child realize their greatest potential.  It is our hope to see that all families are active members of the PTA or PTO, an organized body of people who have an interest or purpose in common...our children!

The Waxpool staff and I look forward to a wonderful school year and the opportunity to work with you and your family.

    With Waxpool Warmth,

    Michael Pellegrino

    Principal
