Degrees and Certifications:
Hi! My name is Danielle Kuni and I'm excited to be part of the 8th-grade Civics and Economics team here at Trailside Middle School. I enjoy coming to work every day and am inspired by our thoughtful and inquisitive students. I try to make learning fun with engaging and interactive lessons, but I also strive to challenge students to view content through various lenses. I hope to leave them with a deeper understanding of the material while developing their ability to think critically. I try to make a positive impact on students every day, whether through an interesting discussion about Civics, asking about their day, or just with a kind word and a smile.
I received my master's degree in secondary education with an endorsement in middle school social studies and my undergraduate degree in finance. When I'm not at school I'm with my husband and two daughters. My oldest, Emily, is in eleventh grade and my younger daughter, Madison, is in tenth.
This time of year we would usually be busy at school and most of my free time would be spent at one of my daughters' sporting events, but like everyone else, we are home practicing social distancing! I am excited though, to be working with students online and I'm really looking forward to our weekly synchronous meetings on Google Meet. I am available via email every day, but am also holding office hours where students, and their parents, can schedule a Google Meet to discuss issues face-to-face. On the next page is aschedule of each block's class times on Google Meet along with my office hours.
I feel very lucky to be part of the Trailside team and hope to leave a positive trail here! Go Timberwolves!
