Posted by Academies of Loudoun on 3/18/2024- Drives 4 Lives will be hosting a clothing drive to donate to an orphanage in Sierra Leone. From the dates of 3/18-3/22, feel free to donate gently used clothing. Donation boxes are located outside of room 2208 and upstairs near the blue commons area.
- Amy Foulkes - College Rep from the University of Kentucky will be here today at 1:00 pm in Auditorium "A" to tell you about the many educational programs they offer in liberal arts, engineering, agricultural, and medicine. Bring your lunch and drop by to visit.

Bring your lunch and meet with MSU's college rep Savannah Willis at 1:00 pm on Wed. 03/13 & Thurs. 03/14 in Auditorium A.
- Tony Philpot, Logan Lopresti, Bryan Solorzano competed in Jacksonville Fl. this past weekend at Tulsa Welding Schools national Welding contest. Tony took 4th place out of 300 contestants. All did a great job bringing home scholarships, welding gear, tools and various prizes. Great job to all three Welding students.

- Congratulations to the Health and Medical Science students who competed at the state HOSA Future Health Professionals Leadership Conference in Williamsburg, Virginia this past weekend. They broke a new ACL record by placing in 21 different events and now 44 students have the opportunity to move on to the international competition in June!
- Congratulations to members of our ACL Chess Club who competed in the 2024 Virginia Scholastic and College Chess Championships held in Roanoke, VA over the weekend. Brian Tay, Ronen Wilson, Pranav Swaminathan, and Ananya Ananth collectively won six trophies, including two 2nd place team trophies for ACL. Well played!

- Congratulations to ACL VEX Robotics students. This past weekend teams 42075 B "Titan" and 42075 C "El Primo" traveled to the state championship in Doswell, VA. "El Primo" qualified for the tournament bracket, and made it to the semifinals, placing them among the top four alliances in the state of Virginia! Congratulations to all ACL VEX members on an amazing season! Stay tuned for updates about officer positions for next year.

- Over the weekend, the ACL Cyber Competition Club traveled to compete in the 2nd Annual Commonwealth Cyber Cup Finals hosted by the Virginia Cyber Range. The Commonwealth Cyber Cup is a jeopardy style Capture The Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition in which teams of high school students compete against other schools across the state of Virginia to solve various cybersecurity challenges, including web application security, network traffic analysis, log analysis, cryptography, reverse engineering, and more. A big round of applause goes to Brady Cook, Aneesh Ganesh, Angelo Pinillos-Sternberg, Cooper Roe, Rashad Safir, and Sebastian Boyles for overcoming an early deficit to finish with the 2nd highest score overall, beating out every advanced tier team but our own; earning 1st place in their tier. Our advanced tier team jumped out to an early lead and never relented, maintaining the #1 spot on the scoreboard throughout the day. Make sure you congratulate Yatin Manuel, Aneesha Koninty, Harry On, Shyaam Mukundan, Tanish Ambala, and Yogesh Thambidurai for their outstanding achievement and bringing the Commonwealth Cyber Cup to the Academies of Loudoun.
- Stop by Auditorium B today during lunch where NOVA SySTEMic will be talking about their summer internship opportunities. 1, 2, and 3-week internships support summer STEM camps and are available for high school students 16+ with experience in coding, cybersecurity, fabrication, programming, robotics, or rocketry. Interns can receive up to $2,700 upon program completion.
