Ms. Melanie Muller
6th grade language arts 2018-2019
Welcome to the nest, new Riverhawks! You're about to have a spectacular year of growth, friendship, learning, and wonder!
Mrs. Muller has a BA in English and education from Western Michigan University, and she received her Masters in Education from California State University, San Bernardino. Mrs. Muller continues to learn by taking courses, attending professional conferences every year; she also serves on various school committees. With nearly 30 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Muller is looking forward to her 15th year at Belmont Ridge. Before coming to BEMS, she taught middle school students in Michigan, at a US army base in Germany, in the LA area of California, and finally in Reston, Fairfax County. Mrs. Muller and her husband, Pete, are empty nesters with three grown children-one son in Denver, another in med school in Allentown, PA, and her daughter in vet school in Blacksburg. Along with being an avid reader, she enjoys working out, going on weekend adventures, spending time with family and friends, and traveling/exploring the world. Mrs. Muller feels very blessed to be teaching at Belmont Ridge because of the wonderful community of students, parents, and staff. House C (the 6th grade house) rocks! She is very excited to have the opportunity to meet, inspire, and learn from every student.
