    U.S. History: Reconstruction to Present

    Mrs. McKenica will be teaching 7th grade U.S. History again this year and will be also teaching 6th grade U.S. History!  In addition to sponsoring Student Government, Mrs. McKenica is the Subject Area Lead Teacher (SALT) for Social Science and Global Studies.  This is Mrs. McKenica's 14th year working for LCPS.  She taught for 7 years at Heritage High School and then took a year off to be at home with her two daughters.  She graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences and a Masters Degree in Teaching.  Prior to college, she lived in California, Arizona, Tennessee, and Virginia.  She has lived in Northern Virginia for the last 15 years.   

    She loves to travel and has been able to visit: most of the 50 states, France, England, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Mexico, Canada, and the Bahamas! 



    Homework will be listed through ParentVue/StudentVue and Google Classroom to show assignment information.  Homework is also always listed in my room on the Homework Board so students should be keeping track of their assignments as well.


    GOOGLE :)

    Class information/resources will be posted on Google Classroom.  This is where you will find information/practice sites to reinforce what is taught in class.  Each block has its own individualized Google Classroom code so please let me know if you have a schedule change.



     Communication between students, teachers, and parents is important.  I will be using the email information enterd into ParentVue/provided  by the school.  If you have an concerns regarding this or are not receiving my emails, please send me an e-mail at the address below and include your name, student’s name, and/or the block they have U.S. History.  I will do my best to send the dates/topics of upcoming summative assessments.
