Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Frank Bogden, Jr. This is my second year at Buffalo Trail and I am excited to be teaching third grade again. This will be my 25th year as a teacher. I have taught third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. I have taught thirteen years in North Carolina with the Wake and Vance County School systems and ten years in West Virginia with the Preston County School system. I grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania in the middle of Appalachia. I come from a family of coal miners and am among the first generation of my family to graduate college. I grew up loving the outdoors which continues to this day. When I am not outside, you can find me enjoying a good book. My wife and I have two kids, Rocky and Brianna, who are 18 and 20 and living on their own. Currently, we have a small horse farm in northern West Virginia we are trying to sell and relocate to the area.
I love to give students experiences that stretch their thinking. I enjoy projects and teaching them to manage their learning. I love to tell stories and share connections I have from my past to what is going on in the moment. Most of all, I enjoy watching third-graders learn! I am looking forward to a great year.
