My name is Frank Bogden, Jr. This is my fourth year at Buffalo Trail and I am excited to be teaching fourth grade. This will be my 27th year as a teacher. I have taught third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. I have taught thirteen years in North Carolina with the Wake and Vance County School systems and ten years in West Virginia with the Preston County School system. I grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania in the middle of Appalachia. I come from a family of coal miners and am among the first generation of my family to graduate college. I grew up loving the outdoors which continues to this day. When I am not outside, you can find me enjoying a good book. My wife and I have two kids, Rocky and Brianna, who are 20 and 22. Currently, we live in Marshall, Va and enjoy walking our two Golden Retrievers, Maisie and Brody, in our rural neighborhood.
I love to give students experiences that stretch their thinking. I enjoy projects and teaching them to manage their learning. I love to tell stories and share connections I have from my past to what is going on in the moment. Most of all, I enjoy watching students learn! I am looking forward to a great year.
