Miss Washington

Hi kindergarten students and families and welcome to Liberty! My name is Miss Washington and I am so excited to be starting my second year teaching here at Liberty! This will be a great year full of growth and learning and I hope you are as excited as I am!

I was raised right here in South Riding, so teaching in my hometown is a dream come true. Growing up, I attended Little River Elementary, Mercer Middle and Freedom High School. After high school, I went James Madison University where I received my B.S. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and my Masters of Arts in Teaching. Go Dukes!

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love attending concerts and Broadway shows, traveling, reading, exploring DC, visiting museums and art galleries, cooking and cheering on the Washington Wizards. I love all things Disney - my classroom is Mickey Mouse themed and I've visited Disney World nearly 20 times!

I'm looking forward to meeting you and hearing about your summers! We're going to learn and have so much fun this year and I can't wait!

Mrs. Wyman

Hello Kindergarten families!  My name is Mrs. Wyman and I am thrilled to be working at Liberty again this year as Ms. Washington’s teacher’s assistant.  Recently, I worked as the PALS tutor at Little River Elementary and loved the time I spent teaching Kindergartners. It truly is a special age and a joy to watch them grow!

I graduated from JMU in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education.  I taught first grade in Fairfax County for two years before helping to open Little River Elementary in 2000, where I also taught first grade.  I left teaching when I became a mom and stayed home to focus on raising my two beautiful children.

Elementary school definitely feels like a second home to me.  While away from teaching, I helped out as a room parent and volunteered in my children’s classrooms as much as possible.  My daughter will be a seventh grader at Lunsford this school this year and my son will be a sophomore at Freedom...they grow up so fast!

I may see you all outside of the classroom since I am also a South Riding resident.  My husband and I have lived here for 20 years.  Away from school I love spending time with family and friends…and sweet pup, Maggie!  I am a home team sports fan, I admire nature, and when I’m not running my children around town, you can find me enjoying a good Netflix show!
