Welcome to class! As a 7th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher, I’m glad to be part of the Trailside Timberwolves. In our classroom, you'll experience a calming environment and welcoming spaces for independent and group work. We will explore our world, through stories and articles that will help us become globally and socially minded as we discover our part to play in this life journey.

As a struggling reader in school, I found a love for adventure stories in comics and graphic novels. Comics were my gateway into a world of literature that eventually lead me to my favorite book, Treasure Island. I love all things Marvel and DC and currently have around 1700 comics in my collection. My favorite superheroes are Superman, Spiderman and I love to dig through old smelly comic book stores to find them. 

I graduated from UNC Wilmington in Middle Grades Education and have been teaching Language Arts and Social Studies for 10 years. I call Wilmington, NC my hometown and after many years there, left in 2016 with my wife, 3 dogs, and 4 cats to move to San Francisco, CA. In 2018 we returned to the East Coast and are happily settled in Loudoun County where we can soak up the history and culture of the nation’s capital and take advantage of the variety of transportation options taking us to cities and lands near and far!
