Mr. Dan Loper

Greetings and welcome to my updated homepage for our new Virtual High School. Please note my modifications for this new reality we are in:

Please contact me directly if you need a Google Classroom code.

I will be checking Google Classroom and email daily during the work week, actively monitoring them Monday - Friday from 3:00 - 3:30 pm on those days.

Please submit any questions to me either by email or by posting them to Google classroom at any questions at any time of day or night. I will respond by the end of the next schoolday.

Despite the virtual nature of school, I remain strong partners with Mr. Hochkammer for Conceptual Physics and Ms. Langmead for Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). We are highly committed to continued student success in our virtual age. If you have any questions for us, please email the team members, and we will work on an answer/resolution soonest and respond to you by the end of the next business day.

A little bit about my background: I began my teaching career as a long and short-term substitute in March of 2017. After teaching Extended School Year (ESY) in 2018, I took the Job Coach position here at Valley for the 2018-2019 school year and was hired as the Autism Case manager for the 19-20 school year.

Prior to teaching, I was an active-duty member of the US Air Force, retiring in 2012 after 21 years. I had an excellent Air Force career, spending my entire time in the Space Operations career field. At various times in my career, I had the opportunity to teach military and civilian personnel on varied topics from first response to space operations. This experience in teaching a diverse population prepared me for classrooms in the public-school setting.

May you each have an amazing end to the school year. I look forward to continuing to work with each of you, albeit from the other end of a computer screen.

Regards,

- Dan
