Mr. Dan Loper

Welcome to my homepage! My name is Dan Loper, and I am an Autism Special Education Teacher, also co-teaching Conceptual Physics with Mr. C. Hockammer and Geospatial Information Systems with Ms. T. Langmead. Although I am new to the teaching profession, I have completed an entire career prior to transitioning to teaching.

I began my teaching career as a long and short-term substitute in March of 2017. After teaching Extended School Year (ESY) in 2018, I took the Job Coach position here at Valley for the 2018-2019 school year and was hired as the Autism Case manager for the 19-20 school year.

Prior to teaching, I was an active-duty member of the US Air Force, retiring in 2012 after 21 years. I had an excellent Air Force career, spending my entire time in the Space Operations career field. At various times in my career, I had the opportunity to teach military and civilian personnel on varied topics from first response to space operations. This experience in teaching a diverse population prepared me for classrooms in the public-school setting.

My schedule has me in various places, and I know I may need to be reached at various times. Please find my daily schedule here. Though I can typically be found in room 306 when the school opens, please coordinate ahead of time to ensure I will be there. Please find links to the classes I either teach or co-teach in the following links.
