Mrs. Lauryn Cottman

This is my seventeenth year teaching!  I am so excited to be in the CTE domain this year!

Here's a little about my educational background:
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003.  I taught high school and junior high school in PA for six years and then moved to California (my husband is a Marine).  My family and I lived in the desert near Twentynine Palms for nine years.  I taught at the elementary level (third through sixth) for eight years and earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University in 2016.  My husband retired from the military in 2017 and we moved to VA in 2018, where I began teaching at BAM.

Here's a little about my life outside of the classroom:
I have three kids, ages 16, 7, and 6.  I love to play board games with my kids and to do activities like bike riding and hiking.  I love coffee and reading books, as well.  If you ever see me at the grocery store, please feel free to say, "Hey!"
