Jessica Eliason
Science Teacher
Jessica Eliason is an instructor for Biological Research, AOS Biology, and Integrated Science within the Academy of Science.
Jessica graduatesd summa cum laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Biology. She received her Doctorate in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University where she was a recipient of Emory's Scholar Training Grant. During her fifth year of graduate school, she received the Janelia Graduate Research Fellowship and completed her degree while doing neruoscience research at the Janelia Research Campus of Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She next completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Janelia Research Campus.
Dr. Eliason has been doing research since 2006. She has experience researching in the fields of endocrinology, genetics, biochemistry, and neuroscience. She has extensive experience writing and presenting scientific research.
Jessica was a teaching assistant for six semesters in Biology, Biology ESL, Biochemsitry, Microbiology, and Human Genetics classes. She was also a tutor for Physics and Chemistry. During her graduate education, she completed a course in science education and a training workshop in science communication.
