Laurel Phillip is excited to join the staff at Willard Intermediate School! She is looking forward to teaching both the 8th and 9th grade band students beginning this coming fall. Previously Mrs. Phillip has taught at Seneca Ridge Middle School in Sterling and Rachel Carson Middle School in Fairfax County. Laurel Phillip is a member of the National Band Association, NAfME, VMEA and is the Registration Coordinator for the Virginia Music Educator’s Conference. She is a nationally recognized Suzuki Flute teacher through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. During her summers she spends time teaching at various band camps throughout Loudoun and Fairfax.
Mrs. Phillip graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Flute Performance. She earned her Master’s degree in Education from George Mason University.
Mrs. Phillip enjoys spending time with her husband, Mr. Phillip, and daughter, Hannah. She also enjoys helping Mr. Phillip with the John Champe Marching Band in the late summer and fall months.
