Ms. Kim Henry
Hello! I am learning resources teacher specializing in English and reading. This is my 13th year teaching - my second in Loudoun County. I graduated from University of Maryland, University College with a B.A. in Humanities. I received my masters in Special Education from Regent University in 2017. Prior to teaching in Loudoun County, I was a certified educational therapist through National Institute of Learning Development (NILD) working with students with specific learning disabilities. I also taught middle school at a private school in Montgomery County, Maryland. My passion is helping kids work through their weaknesses and discove their strengths. This year I will be teaching English 8 as well as Reading Strategies 8. I will have both self-contained classes, and I will be team teaching with Ms. Holly Sharp and Ms. Stacie Holtzberger. When I am not with your children, I spend my time with my own little ones, ages 8 and 11. In my spare time, I love reading, gardening, and spending times with family and friends. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns. Here's to a great year!
All my self classes utilize Google Classroom for assignments, announcements, and reference materials (including study guides). If students are absent they should always check in with me personally for things handed out in class that day, but they should also check Google Classroom for work missed as well.
