Mrs. Sheridan, Debra
Mrs. Sheridan is the School-Based Instructional Facilitator (SBIF) at River Bend Middle School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English from Boston College and earned her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. Mrs. Sheridan practiced law in the state of Rhode Island before moving to Virginia and earning her teaching license for Middle School Language Arts through Shenandoah University's Career Switcher program. For the past nine years, she taught 8th Grade English at J.L. Simpson Middle School in Leesburg and for the last two years at River Bend Middle School.
Mrs. Sheridan is also an AVID-certified educator and has served as a Middle School Literacy Coach, a Literacy Journey Facilitator, an ExC-ELL Coach, a Co-Teacher in the VDOE's Excellence in Co-Teaching Initiative, and a coach for the LCPS Academic Decathlon. She has presented at the Virginia Middle School Association Conference, the Greater Washington Reading Council Conference, the VDOE Co-Teaching Institute, and several of the LCPS Language Arts Staff Development programs.
In her free time, Mrs. Sheridan enjoys being outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and traveling with her husband and three children (and sometimes her two Labrador Retrievers) as well as losing herself within the pages of a good book.
