•      Welcome to Fifth Grade!

It is a pleasure to begin my new adventure with Loudoun County Public Schools at Countryside Elementary!  I am excited to be teaching fifth grade this year!  It is a year full of self discovery and independence.  This will be my 11th year teaching public school, but my 14th year teaching!  I have taught preschool, first, second, third and fifth grades.  I am transferring here from Fauquier County Public Schools.  Before becoming a teacher I was a stay at home mom and prior to that an accountant in Corporate America!

I live in Fauquier with my husband and one of my children.  My oldest son has graduated from Virginia Tech and is currently working and living in Lynchburg.  My daughter is a junior at William and Mary so she lives with us on breaks and when she is not traveling the world.  My youngest son is a senior at Kettle Run High School, plays football there and is gainfully employed with Harris Teeter!  My husband and I are learning a new way of life as our children grow and leave the nest.  We enjoy spending  time outdoors and exercising together.  I also enjoy reading and sewing when time permits.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year and to getting to know each of you on a personal level.  Please do not hestitate to contact me if you ever have a question or concern.  The best way to communicate with me is either through handwritten notes or emails.  My email address is jean-marie.baier@lcps.org.
