    Liberty’s After School Enrichment Program is excited to kick off for the FALL Semester!

    Registration closes Sunday September 15 at 11:55 p.m.

    Classes are from 2:40pm – 3:40pm.

     

    Transportation home will need to be provided by the parent/guardian. Walking home without adult supervision is not allowed. If the student is enrolled in CASA/YMCA, the child will be escorted back to CASA/YMCA at the end of the session.

     

    All classes are on a first-come, first-served basis. Refunds will be only be issued if the class is full or cancelled due to lack of enrollment.

     

    Fall 2019 Offerings:

     

    MONDAY 9/23-12/2

    Basketball | Grades 2-4| $141 Fundamentals of basketball learning rules and basic positions. Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Davis.

     

    Chess Program | Grades 1-5| Fall only $160 / full year $468 What to Expect: Absolute Beginners will be ready to play a complete chess game. Intermediate Kids will boost their chess knowledge. Chess players outperformed the average students in the country. By: Stuart Marguelis, PhD. By Prodigy School of CHESS and STEM.


    GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) | Grades 2-5 | $141 Girls will feel empowered as they tackle challenging problems and learn about important women in the STEM field. GEMS girls will work together and build their confidence as they see just how big of an impact girls can have! Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Thomas.


    OMG, You Can Juggle! | Grades 3-5| $141 Are you interested in learning the art of juggling? Wow your friends and family with this cool new skill! No previous experience necessary. We will start with the basics and scarf jugging then work our way up from there. Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Nykorchuk.


    Young Artists | Grades K-5| $129 The Abrakadoodle art experience engages children with art lessons that will inspire their imagination. Our Young Artists program is intended to be an art enrichment class where your child will explore a variety of art mediums, which may include watercolors, tempera paint, oil pastels, air dry clay and more. We encourage students to use these mediums, as well as their own imagination to create their own unique artwork Students will create and bring home a new piece of artwork each week.     5th Grade Percussion Ensemble | Grade 5| $141
    If you are in 5th grade and you love playing instruments, creating sounds out of everyday objects, learning complex and challenging rhythms, banging on things, jamming out to familiar and new tunes, and being a part of a team, then you will love joining Liberty's first ever 5th Grade Percussion Ensemble! Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Ms. DeMember.


    Girls Who Code! | Grades 3-5| $141
    Want to build an app, design a video game, and change the world through code? Girls Who Code is a national organization leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities while closing the gender gap in STEM fields. Girls will learn and develop the basics of computer science while building confidence in themselves as engineers! Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Peckham.


    Introduction to Entrepreneurship | Grades 1-3| $141 Let your child establish an entrepreneurial mindset while channeling their inner creativity to generate their own opportunities and find innovative solutions to problems they are passionate about solving! Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Ricci.


    Introduction to Game Design | Grades 1-5| $180 Introduction to Game Design introduces fundamentals and concepts of game design within a real game engine many indie development teams currently use. Students learn to design and build their own game from the ground up, while learning 2D game art and programming logic with the engine’s integrated art software and easy-to-use events system, fit for beginners through advanced learners alike.     Kids On Canvas | Grades K-2| $146 Grab a paintbrush and jump right in for a colorful Kids on Canvas adventure! Use tempera and acrylic paint to explore painting subjects such as the figure, landscape and still life - with a fresh Abrakadoodle twist! We use our imaginations and inspiration from a different artist each week to create with paint in a variety of ways! Students will create and bring home a new piece of artwork each week. By Abrakadoodle.


    Spanish for Beginners | Grade 1-5| $141 Basic Spanish conversations. Greetings, numbers and vocabulary. Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Ramirez.


    USTA Youth Tennis Program | Grades 3-5| $170 The first and only national tennis enrichment program in the country. Students will develop tennis skills utilizing kid-friendly equipment in a play-to-learn style that gets them rallying and having fun right away. All first-time students receive a wristband, a hat, and a student handbook. Program is taught by USTA-trained coaches and all tennis equipment is provided during the class. By USTA - Mid-Atlantic Section.

     

    WEDNESDAY 9/25-11/13

     

    3D Printing | Grades 3-5 | $180 3D Printing is a premier class that not only teaches students how to create 3D models from an artistic standpoint, but also teaches them from an engineering standpoint. Because the models will be printed, our instructors teach students what to consider in the construction of the model to produce the best-quality print. Students will observe a 3D Printer during each lesson to learn proper 3D printing standards and processes, all while creating their own models that will be printed for them. The course ends with students taking home their own accounts so they may continue modeling at home, along with at least 2 model prints they designed themselves during their time with us.     Cooks n' Books | Grades K-1| $141 Students will be whipping up fun and healthy no-bake recipes based on children’s books! Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Luik.

     

    Crazy 8's | Grades 3-5| $141 Crazy 8's is a science and math club, where children will build stuff, run, jump, create music, and make a mess! Children get to do mischiefmaking activities like Glow- in-the-Dark Geometry, Bouncy Dice and Toilet Paper Olympics. They will even get to take home some cool gadgets, too! Offered by our own Liberty staff members, Mrs. Gilbert & Mrs. Houston.

     

    Gymnastics & Tumbling | Grades K-5| $141 Students will learn tumbling and gymnastics basics. Each session will consist of warm up, stretching, tumbling skills, balance beam basics, and light strength training. Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Wrighte.

     

    Mad Scientist Experiments | Grades 2-5| $141 Like to make things explode? Want to write disappearing secret messages to your friends? Come button up your lab coat and strap on some goggles. We are going mad... for science experiments! Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mrs. Donaldson.

     

    Mudskippers Pottery | Grades K-5| $188 Join us as we explore the exciting world of pottery! Each session, students will learn new techniques as they tackle new projects. Every assignment is connected to an art history lesson that is sure to spark your child's imagination. Students will hone fine motor skills through hand building and glazing their pottery masterpieces while expressing their personal vision. We fire all pieces in our professional studio making them functional and also dishwasher safe. No experience is required. Sign up today and see how much fun it is to get muddy!     Spikeball Intro | Grades 4-5| $141 Combining hand-eye coordination, communication and teamwork skills plus getting a sweaty workout in all at once, introducing... SPIKEBALL! This new game and activity has been making its way around the world, inviting people from all different age ranges to work on a new game requiring different movement and communication skills to successfully win this game. This you have what it takes to be crowned the Spikeball King/Queen? Offered by our own Liberty staff member, Mr. Lang

    THURSDAY 9/26-11/14

     

    Drama Kids | Grades K-5| $153 Drama Kids offers exciting programs for grades K-5. Our enriching and time-tested curriculum is designed not only to teach acting skills, but also to build student confidence, encourage teamwork, and bolster public speaking skills. We teach individual lessons each week focusing on skills like projection, articulation, improvisation, characterization, stage presence, etc. The kids perform in class each week, whether with scripts or in plays they write themselves. We will end the spring semester with a Parent Presentation where our students will perform skits and snippets of other activities that we worked on throughout the class. By NOVA Drama Kids.

    Minecraft Modding | Grades 1-5| $180 Minecraft Modding teaches students important problem-solving and design skills by making changes to the popular multiplayer game itself. Programming fundamentals are reinforced by designing and implementing large-scale Minecraft modifications. Our instructors offer individualized attention and mentorship throughout our course, so students will learn at their pace following their personal learning style and interests. Students end their time with us with their mods, which they may add to their personal Minecraft games. By STEM excel.
