    Kenneth Christopher
    Director of School Counseling

I am happy to begin my 23rd year in the school counseling profession. I served as a School Counselor and Soccer Coach at West Springfield High School in Fairfax County Public Schools for six years, and five years as School Counselor and Soccer Coach at Freedom High School. In 2011, I was promoted to Director of School Counseling at Freedom High School.

Following an undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Human Services, Family and Child Development, I earned a master’s degree in School Counseling, also from Virginia Tech. Go Hokies!

I am a member of Virginia School Counselors Association and the American School Counselors Association, and I also serve as an ASCA RAMP Reviewer for ASCA RAMP Applications submitted by counseling departments from around the country.

The Freedom School Counseling Department analyzes school-wide data to focus on systemic services and developmental grade level curriculum, but our primary goal is to focus on each individual student. The Freedom School Counseling Department have earned the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation two times. We are one of 359 elementary, middle and high schools in the country to earn this elite designation, and one of 2 high schools in Loudoun County.

I have a family of 3, with one daughter and a wife. My wife serves in administration at the March of Dimes National Office. When not working, I am most likely on a soccer sideline or on a magical vacation on a Disney property somewhere. #DVC
