Tonya Smith
Assistant PrincipalThis year I will be overseeing our senior class, the Class of 2022, as well as the Special Education, English Language, and Health and PE departments. My goal each day is to ensure that Freedom students are active and engaged participants in the classroom environment and that they leave Freedom each day having learned at least one new thing about themselves. In addition, I hope to see students, parents, and faculty working together to create a positive school community.
You will regularly see me and my family supporting the Freedom students and community by attending sporting events, drama productions, musical performances, and other special activities. We enjoy seeing the talents and giftings our our Freedom students in action!
While I am a fan of The Ohio State University, I never attended college there. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Malone University (Canton, Ohio), a Master’s Degree from George Mason University in Curriculum and Instruction, Integration of Technology in Schools, and an EdS degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Washington University.
